Get a Grip–not just a book for weeping females,
I was lucky and got an early read of this book. Don’t let the melodramatic weeping female on the book cover fool you… this is a serious book that challenges readers to get a better understanding of themselves. For 14 days, Dr. Belisa Vranich takes you through topics that explore aspects of who you are. These aspects include your past, how you and others see yourself, your goals, your future, things that upset you, etc. For each day of exploration, Belisa guides you with strategies used in regular therapy, examples from real life and philosophical examples from all points of view. After taking everything in, you are asked to respond without fear into your journal. The journal is the equivalent of lying down on the therapist’s couch and talking. It may seem intimidating to write down your thoughts, but Dr. Belisa provides good guiding questions to get you started. At the end of 14 days, you will be amazed at how much you’ve opened up.
I was impressed with the book’s straight forwardness and friendly tone. Dr. Belisa informs but never talks down to you. It’s heavy in ideas and each day’s topic could easily branch off into weeks’ worth of work. Therefore, this is a book that is useful in multiple phases of your life. I myself have reread sections and reworked the journal questions to gain a deeper understanding.
‘Get a Grip’ reminds us that there are no easy and gimmicky tricks to understanding ourselves. It requires hard work, persistence (trust me, there were some assignments that i didn’t want to do but I made myself do it anyway), and a willingness to listen within. This experience is as rewarding as you want to make it.

Whether frumpy, uninformed, or simply boring and inarticulate, too many self-help books have one agenda: to make the author a superstar. THANK GOD FOR BELISA VRANICH, who is *already* a superstar, and an incredibly quick-witted one.
From page one, Belisa’s knowledgeable and modern approach, ability to call out the reader on their BS, and realistic solutions stands out from the barrage of emotional makeover books that completely miss the mark. Whether you’re coming out of a relationship, making a career switch, or beating yourself up for things you can’t change, there’s something in this book for anyone in crisis…and probably most people who have it relatively together.
Get a Grip is consistently concentrated on pushing the reader to do real work instead of applying a quick fix. Two weeks of applying honest methodology designed to make you more self-aware and pro-active can yield real results. Belisa’s book is a winner.

|DIY Therapy Boot Camp,
Don’t judge this book by its cover – the cover should be champion raising his or her fist in victory, because that’s what I felt like after Dr. Belisa’s book. I’ve tried other self-help type books, and they were all too long. I lost interest halfway through and didn’t finish. And then I felt like I had let myself down for not finishing! This book, which takes two weeks, was the perfect amount of time. It’s not too long, and there is something to do every day. It’s pretty intense to delve this deep in such a short amount of time, but it really worked for me. If ever there was a shortcut for getting your head screwed on straight, this is it. Dr. Belisa’s writing is upbeat and accessible and inspiring. I recommend it!

|MONDAY MORNING MOTIVATION-STARTING YOUR WEEK AND YEAR OFF RIGHT,
As the end of the year approaches you are no doubt likely to hear people excitedly speak about their New Year’s resolutions-vows to eat better, work harder and do things in a different way than they did in the passing in year. For many the start of the calendar year as an opportunity to wipe the slate clean of past mistakes and regrets, however in Monica Marie Jones’ sixth book, Monday Morning Motivation, she challenges readers to view every Monday as a new year, “Everyday is a new day and an opportunity to start over again, but I feel that Mondays are the most powerful because they are the beginning.”
The book, which started as a weekly email blast to Jones’ close friends and supporters, is a compilation of 52 weekly inspirational messages written to help the reader use Mondays as a chance to re-commit to a lifestyle change, do something differently than done in the previous week and start a journey of letting go of something that negatively impacts your life. True to her previous written works, Monica delivers insights by drawing on personal experiences and revelations starting with Week 1 appropriately titled Out With the Old, In With the New. In this chapter she compares ridding her space of unnecessary, poor quality clothing and household items to people with the same attributes who are just taking up room that could be utilized by things and people that add value. She likens this relationship of holding on to superfluous things and people to comforters- their purpose is to keep us warm and many use them as a security blanket to make us feel good. She states that often times in life we keep people who serve that same purpose, but like comforters one or two is usually enough, anymore and you run the risk of being surrounded by people who simply coddle you and don’t force you to grow.
At the end of the chapter Jones challenges the reader to evaluate the things and people they may need to let go of in order to make room for what you want to attract in your life. For each of the remaining 51 weeks, a new subject is presented using real life analogies and practical exercises that not only change your way of thinking, but also allow to you walk confidently in your purpose. So as you make your New Year’s Resolutions or when you revisit them months down the line, add reading Monday Morning Motivation to your list to keep you on track for staying positive throughout the year.

|Excellent Source of Motivation & Inspiration,
I came across Monica Marie Jones at a conference 3 years ago and she inspired me so much, when I went home that night, I instantly searched for her on facebook, found her website, and immediately subscribed to her email newsletters. In these newsletters Monica would share her Monday Morning Motivation every Monday and reading them beecame a habit that I became so deeply rooted in that when Monica missed a week once, I felt incomplete.
Monday Morning Motivation is indeed one of the greatest books I’ve ever read, Not only is it an easy read, but the content in this book is so strong, You’ll always walk away ready to approach life in a new way. I highly recommend this book to everyone! I promise there is something in this book for YOU!

|No More Moaning Mondays,
Mondays are usually a drag for most people. You come off a weekend free of work (for some) only to start work again. From many people, Mondays can be depressing. One day on Facebook, I came across Monica Marie Jones Monday messages in her notes section. They were stories, analogies, things to stir and inspire. Every Monday after that I was anxious to read her messages. On the Mondays, she was delayed or could not post, many readers and I would be disappointed not seeing the messages. I was hooked and waiting each Monday to be uplifted. Now Monica has compiled her messages into this wonderful book. Even though I have read them on her Facebook page, they are never meant to be read just once. This book has become a reference book for inspiration. I enjoyed the her on Facebook and I am sure readers will enjoy her book.
