Question by OCwahine: help! viruses are taking over my computer!!?
“antivirus/antispyware software” has been taking over my computer. noone that uses the computer has done it and “antivirus software” keeps popping up.
when i try to go online my origional homepage (yahoo) doesn’t come up it’s this “antivirus software” webpage. and it keeps saying that the website is insure and there is a virus threat on it even though it’s yahoo.
it also keeps scanning my computer searching for viruses, but here’s the thing, there are more than one of the “software” things. it’s like they keep getting us to buy their “software” and a “security toolbar 7.1” seems to have installed it self and I can’t get it off!
i’ve tried using add/remove programs and windows security and whatevs, but nothing works!
there are also shortcuts on my desktop that were never there before, for software we never even had and they all have the windows security icon but the names are Antivirus Advance and Windows Antivirus 2008 and stuff like that so please please help!!! i don’t know what to do!!!
and if this sounds familiar please tell me!!

The antivirus that you see is really a virus. Use bitdefender free online scan to get rid of it http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html.
You may need to do a system restore to a time before the virus was there to be able to get rid of it.
Be sure to install a good internet security suite such as bitdefender or norton internet security 2008 to prevent problems in the future.
The only way I have found of blocking the phony antivirus website is by using parental controls. With good antivirus, the site comes up but can’t infect you.

It sounds like you panniced and did whatever the computer told you to do. Often times different programs act in their own selfinterest. From what you describe it sounds like you have large numbers of competing anti-virus software.
What you might want to do is use system restore. It might be hard to find but use the “help and support” in your start menu:
start –> help and support –> search for “system restore” –> run system restore wizard.
Restore your system to a point before this started. Now the computer should dump everything that was installed after that point, leaving you with your previous virus protection. If needbe, install of uninstall your protection saystems so that you have 1 virus scanner (preferably the best one).
Now run a full system scan, if it tells you it “repaired” a file, run more full system scans untill it is completely clean.

@clydesight I think e verybody has experiances with ESP, but most are not aware of it. One example are? premenitions. As stateed in this video, it’s beyond the human five senses.
